What is alternative education?

Washington Association for Learning Alternatives

 

Education having a:

    2. Varied instructional methods

    3. Flexible environment that can respond to the needs of students and staff

 

 It provides for:

    4. Different rates of intellectual development

    5. Different modes of learning.

 

The programs strive to:

    6. Validate the thinking process

    7. Validate the self-worth of each student

It helps students  become:

    8. Independent

    9. Self-initiating learners

    10. Problem solvers

Each alternative education program 

strives to meet the needs
