Two Rivers Science Curriculum

Integrated Science

Foundations science for those who have not had a science class in a while, hate science, or who are not academically ready for a course with a lot of reading and projects.  We will start with basic scientific method and move slowly into forensics, earth science, very basic chemistry, and some physics.

Bio-Ethics

Upper level science course that can also be used to meet Current Issues requirement.  This class explores several ethical models and then uses the basic principles to evaluate current science controversies like genetic engineering, animal models used in biomedical research, and stem cell research.

Biology

This is an upper level science class that would suit students who have already had at least one year of science.  The first part of the course is devoted to genetics and biotechnology which segue into evolution and natural selection.

Environmental Science

Basic ecology and environmental science for beginning science students who like projects and labs.  This class will require extensive reading and research, PowerPoint presentations and a conservation biology project using biotechnology.  Students who take this class should have a good feeling about science but don’t have to have a lot of preparation for it.
